Beauty Hacks for Busy Moms

They say our lives change completely once we have a lil one…Sooo true! Although we have the littlest time for ourselves, I’m pretty sure we can still squeeze in 5 minutes here & there to at least look presentable or make life easier for us cause you know, a little bit of help counts! Here’s a list of Beauty Hacks I started doing ever since I became a Mama!

1st Hack: DRY SHAMPOO IS YOUR BESTFRIEND

If you haven’t use dry shampoo yet, WOW, where have you been? Lol. I’m kidding! I love Dry shampoo for the obvious reasons. When showers are considered Luxury in mommy world, Dry shampoo will absorb oil, reshapes, adds volume to the roots and will give you a fresh clean look (and scent).

My favourite one that I use is the Batiste dry shampoo!

2nd Hack: THE POWER OF BROWS, CONCEALER & LIPSTICK.

If I’m stuck in an island and can only bring 3 Makeup things, it would be some sort of a brow product, concealer and a nice lipstick. All you need to look decent and not be mistaken as someone who has the flu lol. Brows frame the face, concealer can brighten underneath the eyes, cover dark circles, redness & spots around the face and lastly, Lipstick gives you a boost of confidence and seemed like you had a full face of makeup on! ( My favourite all around lippie is a cherry red hydrating lipstick 😉 )

I use: Anastasia beverly hills brow pomade in dark brown for the brows, ELF camo concealer and Chanel red lippie in Dimitri.

3rd Hack: LEMON WATER + ROLLER BALL

Every Morning I have this mini ritual of drinking a tall glass of lemon water (especially needed before I drink tons of coffee after lol) and using my face roller when applying my moisturizer. I have a special place in the fridge where I put ’em. Not only does it decrease the puffiness you have under your eyes and face but it also lets the product sink in deep into your skin.Honestly is soooo relaxing, & soothing.

4th Hack: ACCESSORIZING.

Head pieces? jewelry? belts? a statement bag? sunglasses? Whatever it is, it will definitely elevate your look even when you’re wearing a simple white tee and black leggings. In my case, I love wearing jeans, a simple top and then I accessorize. Super easy to pull off! a no brainer for sure. pro tip: Hide your eyebags with sunglasses lol

5th hack: COCONUT OIL TO HYDRATE HAIR

My hair: super dry at the ends, super oily on the roots, frizzy and kinky.. perfect combination … NOT lol. Slap on some coconut oil halfway down, put it on a top bun and resume to normal activities while it soaks! Later on the day or at night, I just wash it off and my hair feels soooo good!

6th hack: BED SIDE TABLE WITH MUST HAVES

If you do not have one, then have a little basket of necessities under the bed. I sometimes have no energy to get up and grab my makeup wipes or a snack downstairs. I always keep a bottle of water, my makeup wipes, a granola bar, headphones, tylenol near at all times. Not to sound lazy but like for me, my lil man gets super clingy and wouldnt sleep anywhere but in my arms, on top of my chest. this dude is half my size and wouldnt even go to daddy. Last thing i want to do in the middle of the night is to wake the sensitive boy up. Thank God for necessities by my side!

7th Hack: USE MULTI- PURPOSE/ MULTI FUNCTION PRODUCTS

Who doesn’t love multi-purpose products? Saves us time and moolah! Just make sure they are great and do your research on each product! My top ones are:

  • Garnier Micellar Water for Oily sensitive skin. (removes makeup + cleanses + purifies pores) No rinse, no harsh rubbing. For face, lips and eyes.
  • Its a 10 miracle leave-in plus keratin (protects against heat, detangles, defrizzes and adds shine, strengthens hair, seals cuticles, increases styling and manageability
  • Embryolisse (Moisturizer, Makeup primer, moisturizing mask)
  • Origins tinted moisturizer. I loooooovvveee this! It’s a moisturizer that evens out the skin tone, leaves a bit of a tint and has SPF 40.

8th Hack: NUDE NAIL POLISH

You do not have to have your nails done at the salon every time but at least keep them groomed, clean & looking polished. I personally love adding a coat of 2 of my favourite nude nail polish that goes with just about anything! The colour is fresh, classy and will make your nails look pretty. My fave is Essie’s ballet slippers. ( Rumour has it that this is the go-to nail polish colour of the Queen , Duchess Kate and Meghan)
